Resizing Images 101: Ulead photo Impact
By Badman and Jessica

We’ll be using a Paid program for this method, there is a free trial
available. Go here to download it:
http://www.ulead.com/
It is a larger download 81mb, for those of you with dialup, it may
take some time.
1. Open your image in the program.
a. click File>open> find your image and open it
2. click on Adjust
3. Choose Resize
4. Change the pixel size to any size you wish., If using for posting
on Badmans Tropical Fish
message board the larger the width can is 480 and the length is
640, so you will have to adjust accordingly.
Now, if you made your picture smaller, here is something you can do
which may help your image look better.
5. Click on Photo > Express fix
(If you do not like the results, you can click on Edit
> Undo

6. Click on File > Save As
- Rename it
- Under the “Save as type” drop down box, select JPG-JPEG
- Scroll the Quality down to 80. (The lower the number the lesser
quality of the saved image, for e-mail and web use you may be able
to go lower)
- pick a place and save it. I advise never saving over the original
image, in case you need to go back to it.
7. now go find the image,
- Right click on it
- Select Properties
The size should be about right . If it is too big for the message
board, you will need to scroll the Quality bar to a lower number.
I have found if you post an image that is a full 480x640, you have
to take the quality to 15-20 many times. It depends on what colors
are used an how much color variety is in your picture. Ulead is a
full featured program that I have been using for years. It has many
of the featuresof the big boys without the cost.Like anything it does
have a learning curve.
Hope this helps.
